Hi hi!
We've completed the majority of the move and had the site back up by 20:00 UTC (hey, look, I can post! You can read! Yay!) , but there's still some lingering issues that we need to clean up and are aware of so please be a little more patient while we wrap up the odds and ends.
I want to echo the lj_releases post where we thank burr86 and dormando for their ceaseless efforts, skill and knowledge. The LJ Ops and Engineering teams have/are *still* working their butts off but without burr86 and dormando's expertise, we could not have pulled this off.
For you techies, the slowness on our website is known, and the issue is currently isolated to oversubscribed ports on our core switches. That's direct from our vendor. Yeah, I know... Anyways, we're trying to implement a temporary workaround and we'll be looking to upgrade our hardware as a permanent solution. Please, hang in there a little longer!

On Thanksgiving night, CNN will be airing a special tribute to honor the 10 nominees for their Heroes Award. The show will be broadcast globally on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español at 9 p.m. ET/PT and Anderson Cooper will be hosting the awards. Every nominee will be honored in a documentary tribute and a celebrity introduction which is where Cameron, Salma and Selena come into the picture. Wonder if Selena will be able to contain her excitement when she sees her idol Salma Hayek this time around!
The evening will culminate with the announcement of the CNN Hero of the Year. CNN opened up voting to the public through an on-line poll that generated more than 1 million votes. The Hero of the Year will win $100,000 in addition to the $25,000 that each of the top 10 CNN Heroes received upon their nomination. We'll be tuning in to see our favorite Latina celebs, for sure, but we will also be rooting for top 10 CNN Hero Maria Ruiz, of El Paso, Texas. This selfless Latina regularly crosses the border into Juarez, Mexico to bring food, clothing and toys to poor children and their families. Now, if that isn't something to be proud of, we don't know what is!
